Khadijah Abu is the Head of Product Expansion at Paystack, a startup that enables businesses across Africa to accept payments from their customers. She drives the effort to get more of Paystack’s core products into more markets on the continent. She cut her teeth in the fintech industry in Nigeria, starting out as a product support specialist at Interswitch and working her way up to becoming the Head, Collections and Disbursement Product Management at the company.
She’s a seasoned professional with over 10 years’ of experience in the Nigerian Fintech and Payments space working in Operations, Business Process Re-engineering and Product Management. In that time, she has managed products generating billions of dollars in revenue, and has led the design and implementation of several business automation projects.
Khadijah is one of the co-organisers of ProductTank Lagos, a community of product managers which enables them to connect, exchange ideas and experience about Product Design, Development and Management, Business Modelling, Metrics, and User Experience.
ProductTank Lagos is part of the global ProductTank community, an informal meetup that brings together the local product community in each of those cities – whether they’re Product Managers, Designers, or Developers – to share their experience.
Khadijah is s a graduate of Electrical/Electronics Engineering from the University of Benin. Khadijah is one of the women celebrated in TechCabal’s Tech Women Lagos series which profiles 50 women in the Lagos technology ecosystem from different backgrounds and at different stages of their technology careers.
She hopes to continue to help business grow through the efficient use of technology while participating in other ventures promoting education and community development.
