The European Union said that Nigeria and other countries in the Lake Chad region will receive €102.5 million in humanitarian aid.
Niger, Chad and Cameroon are other countries on the top European bloc humanitarian aid list.
The European Union (EU) made these commitments at its third Lake Chad summit in Niamey on Monday and Tuesday.
The purpose of the meeting is to secure inter-regional agreements on the coordination necessary to effectively address the problems that exist in the region.
According to the EU, this funding aims to meet the acute nutritional needs of conflict-affected families and communities, as well as to treat severe acute malnutrition in children under the age of five.
The Lake Chad region extends into western Chad and northeastern Nigeria, as well as Niger and Cameroon.
The region has been the site of a protracted conflict that has claimed many lives and forced many people to flee their homes in recent decades.
