NAZAS launches “Train-to-fund” scheme to business owner

The NASFAT Agency for Zakat and Sadaqat (NAZAS) in partnership with Havek Leadership Academy has trained 15 business Owners.

The training tagged “Train-to-fund” Scheme was meant to empower some Nigerians.

The Two days training programme  organised for those shortlisted during the application for financial support from the agency.

General Manager of NAZAS Muftau Adelotan said the scheme was an offshoot of NASFAT empowerment programme on Zakat disbursement which is to ensure more mentorship and monitoring from the beneficiaries.

According to him, the aim of the scheme was to create more donors through zakat and sadaqat to empower individuals.

He said: “This scheme in a couple of months should yield profit which will gear the beneficiaries to self-sufficient and also start contributing their to the zakat or sadaqat institution.

“We are going to empower them on August 7, which is the day of our Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Muharram disbursement. After this disbursement, our training outfit in NASFAT, who are handling this exercise, are going to monitor and mentor the beneficiaries for us so we can monitor their growth and success stories. Aside that we have already put them in a whatapp group. This is for us to communicate with them regularly to develop them into our corporate ambassadors. We have people we call corporate ambassadors. They assist us to get more links for donors to bring in more beneficiaries. They will be willing and eager to get more people to give us funds so that more people can benefit from this scheme.”

The General Manager of Havek Leadership Academy, Abdul Wasiu Ayoola, said the partnership had seen a limelight and they are effecient in the area of training.

Ayoola said the training is in six modules of entrepreneurship development courses which encompass setting up a business plan, writing and shooting a business plan and idea, business documentation and formation and risk Management.

He added that the beneficiaries have been introduced to finance, accounting and marketing which will help improve their earnings

“After this first edition, we will continue more in future; we are expecting the best from them as the first set of participants in this edition so we can expand it in the nearest future,”he said.
